HangGlider

This demo was developed to test alternative forms of physical motion controllers and immersive environmental feedback. The original demo was developed by Epic but we were able to modify the control scheme to use gyroscopic control from a mobile device to allow the user to connect to the game and control it externally. Players were able to pitch, yaw, and roll their phone to change the orientation of the glider within the game. Along with alternative control, immersive environmental feedback was implemented into the project. Using two fans and an arduino, a physical prototype was developed to simulate wind giving the user the sensation of gliding through the air. The arduino was linked to Unreal Engine to dynamically control fan speed based off character velocity within the digital world. These two additions, combined with glasses-free 3D creates and extremely immersive, unforgettable experience. -Content/IP Ownership of Dimenco
